Airport Transport Madrid
There is basically four options you can choose from to get from the Airport Barajas Madrid to the the city centre. The cheapest options are by train and bus:Train: The train option in Madrid is great since the main aiport, Barajas, lies close enough to the city and is connected via the Metro system. The Subway line 8 connects the Barajas airport to the centre of Madrid. The most central metro stop to get off is called Nuevos Ministeros. From there you could even take further suburban trains to go to places around Madrid like Toledo and so forth. The trip will cost you exact 1 Euro in total. A really cheap trip which takes 12 minutes all together. The fast and cheap airport transport in Madrid is one of the great advatages to visti Madrid by plane.
Bus: The Bus trip is again really cheap, just 1 Euro the single ticket. Just recently the old bus route has been amended and the trip now takes only about 20 minutes. The bus is leaving every 10 minutes at Terminal 1 and passes by Terminal 2 as well. You will arrive savely at the Metro stop "Avenida de America" in Madrid city centre.
Taxi: A taxi is certainly not as cheap as 1 Euro. A taxi driver should charge you more than 20 to 25 Euro for this rather short trip. Only take Madrid's official taxis with the red strip. There might be a surcharge for luggage of about 5 Euro.
Car Rental: If you plan to tour around Madrid's country side and go for a car rental, there are plenty of agencies at the Barajas airport that speak well english.
