Nightlife in Madrid
Nightlife in Madrid starts the earliest from midnight onwards. The only places where something is going in Madrid before midnight are the Tapa-Bars. Clubs are empty anytime before 1am. Bear in mind that Madrid has its bouncers as well. Sometimes there is a rather stricts dress code. If you are staying in one of the cheap hotels or hostels around the city centre try the area around "Plaza Santa Ana" for bars and Tapas. The "Plaza Santa Ana" is a great place to start and you can move on from there to one of the clubs later. On weekends the "Plaza Santa Ana" is so often so crowded that it takes ages to walk through. Here are some of the places we recommend:Joy Madrid: This is a location young and old located next to the "Palacio Gavria". Its open each day until 5:30 am and costs you 12 to 15 Euro to get in.
Buho Real (Live Music): The "Buho Real" means the Royal Owl has a bunch of local artist performing and gives local songwriters the chance to prove themselfs. The Buho Real is located in 5 Calle Regueros Chueca.
Cuevas de Sésamo: This place is one of the best bars open until 2:30 am.
Los Gabrieles: The "Los Gabrieles" has quite a mixed audience. Its probably what you would expect from a tradidional Spanish bar with slow guitar player and pictures of torros on the walls.
